Woman Calls Police Demanding They Track Down Her STD

A Masterton woman told she had contracted a sexually transmitted disease dialled 111 � demanding that police track down and charge the person who had infected her.

But she was not asking police to pursue the man she had sex with � instead she wanted them to find the woman who had given it to him.

Sergeant Mike Sutton said police were "at a loss" to think about what charge could be laid and referred her back to her doctor.

The incident typified the public misunderstanding of what the emergency service was for.

"It's just another example of what we have to deal with through 111 calls."
