1. I'm quite interested to see Three Extremes
http://www.apple.com/trailers/lions_gate/threeextremes/

Looks quite creepy and surrealistic. And the directors, Takashi Miike (Audition) and Park Chan-wook (Oldboy) are both fairly well acclaimed. I'm not familiar with Fruit Chan though.

6. Me neither...I kinda lucked upon the trailer...
I was checking out the Apple trailers page and the poster for it was among the rotating ones at the top of the page, and it reminded me of Audrey Kawasaki's painting style somewhat, so I was compelled to check it out, and was pleasantly surprised.

(To give you an idea what I'm talking about)

8. The painting?
I love Audrey's art. For me, the weirder the art the better, generally.

24. Plus there's "Sympathy for Lady Vengeance"
which I'm just aching to see. Also, the UK is still yet to get Miike's "Izo" & "Zebraman" from last year.

2. Harry Potter 10,000 or whatever, KING KONG...those are the big two.
King Kong--hate the story, LOVE the Adrien Brody, the Jack Black, and the Jamie Bell. Also like the director dude.

Harry Potter--not read any of the books, but I've seen all the movies and loved two of three of them. I really dig the Harry character for some reason.

I didn't want to see Rent...eh, maybe I did, I'm very ambivalent about whether I liked it or not. It's kind of too Broadway for me, for the subjects they tackle, hard to explain. The trailer makes me feel all warm and fuzzy and I certainly love that. I am also in love with Adam Pascal, even though for some reason he seems to have lost his good looks inexplicably.

But, Seasons of Love rocks so hard and I love love LOVE that they used most of the original cast so I'll probably head on over if I have the chance.

But I HATE Rosario Dawson.

18. We saw Jarhead Sat. night
It was very good.

Actually, I saw five good movies this past weekend:

Jarhead
Everything Is Illuminated
The Squid and the Whale
Shopgirl
The Weatherman

My friend's hubby was out of town, so we saw four together and then she went with me and my hubby to see Jarhead. I'm so far behind on my list, but this helped a bit.

11. Previewed "Zathura" yesterday afternoon -- opens Friday, 11/11/05
Edited on Wed Nov-09-05 06:04 PM by Radio_Lady
The films you listed haven't previewed in Portland, OR yet. However, a 4PM screening of "Zathura" had reviewers and families -- ages ranging from 5 to 71. I didn't see "Jumanji" so am not familiar with that earlier film.

"Zathura" is a wonderful film with lots of space action, amazing kids, vistas of the heavens you won't forget -- and a fun and heart-pumping story line. I gave it a 9/10.

My five-year-old grandson was scared, and shielded his eyes and ears frequently -- but when I offered, he wanted to stay and see the rest of the film! One moviegoer thought it would be best for seven year olds and older.

I don't know how old you are, but you can check "Zathura" out at:

See trailer (many choices here) at:

20. Hi, Lynne!
I've been waiting for this movie since I read the book six years ago. One of the best books I ever read -- the writing was just so beautiful. It's still so hard to believe it was written by a man. I finally saw the preview this past weekend and I'm waiting with baited breath for it to open.

23. Absolutely!
It's very well done. A very simple movie, really, but a very powerful story. Watch for Bobby Kennedy at the far right of the table in a couple of shots from the hearing.
