A Driving Mystery ~ Why must you pull in front of me at 65 MPH ...
and then slow way the hell down making it necessary for me to go around you ...

3. That's okay. So just stay the hell behind me! Didn't anyone tell you ...
about keeping a safe driving distance between cars ...

I mean  what's wrong with pulling in behind me instead of in front of me!

AND if you really have to pull in front of me don't try for a lawsuit because I'm not going to rear-end you!

5. it might be safer keeping these dillweeds in front of you.........
The type of driving behavior that you describe pisses me off to no end. Speed around me then cut right in front. Excuse me i was going 65 here, not 63.....

Oh well, better that you have my headlights up your ass.

6. Yep! Sometimes I just slow way the hell down and let 'em go ...
I'm rarely in a hurry.

I've got no deadline to meet.

But after 9 hours of driving at 67 to 69 MPH people who cut me off are the ones that upset me the most.

Edited on Sat Nov-12-05 06:03 AM by mrbill
the multitudes that pay no attention to the yield signs at the access points of the highway. I'm crusing here at 65 and you pull out in front of me and make me slow down or signal a left lane action....

Zap you dumbass driver with mister finger.

A 1/4 mile back is good safe place to be.

You can get away with one leap frog move, then the other player usually becomes obsessive/compusive.

on edit; spell check

4. Buffy - I really wonder about the rest of the world at times ...
What are they thinking!?! I'm almost always driving just above the speed limit. So pulling in front of me only means that (1) I have to apply my brakes or (2) pull out to go around you.

I had one nut pulling a trailer who played leapfrog with me 2 or 3 times on an empty highway. The last time he did - I slowed down enough to give him 1/4 mile of distance ...
:wtf: there was no one else out there!

7. Psychology
There are three cars. A B and C. You are A and your friend who upset you is B. The speed of the cars is mentioned next to the letter. So you are A68

The initial situation

A68 |
|
C60 |
|
B63 |

B wants to pass C

A68 |
|
C60 |
| B66

B has passed C

A68 |
|
| B69
C60 |

Now there are two options.
1) B goes behind A or 2) B passes A.
The first option sounds the most intelligent
However B is slightly faster than A so psychology tells him:

A68 | B70
|
|
|
C60 |

B has passed A

B69 |
|
A68 |

And after that psychological victory returns to his normal mode

B63 |
A68 |

B63 | A75:mad:

A70 |
|
B63 |

10. This is one of my biggest aggravations
I am working hard at not getting angry over this stuff. I hate driving anymore. People pull out in front and won't even go the speed limit. I have given up driving on the interstate to work and back because of the congestion and the average speed of 30 mph due to high volume. I take the side roads. You know if the speed limit is 35 I figure thats how fast one should drive, not 25 or 20. These things along with having someone pull out in front of me and then make no effort to keep the flow of traffic going drive me nutty. :eyes:

Pulling out in front of someone on the Highway is dangerous as well as agravating.....

Especially if there is no one behind you...

15. Driving mystery #2:
Why when someone in the right lane wants to switch lanes to pass the vehicle in front of them, they only need six inches clearing the bumper of the vehicle they're pulling over in front of (vehicle in the left lane), but now, after slowing traffic down in the left lane to one mile per hour faster than the vehicle they are now passing, why do they need FIVE CAR LENGTHS of clear road before they can pull back over into the right lane again?

16. Yeah, that's why I LOVE cruise control up in Vermont
but HATE cruise control in MA. In MA I get in the middle lane so the truckers can scream by me on the right going downhill, and then I pass them going uphill, rinse repeat. But MA passenger car drivers, they som stupid ass.
