Help! Accidentally sent a very personal message to "Reply All"
Is there anyway to recall this? This person will hate me forever if everyone gets this message! What can I do?

2. E-mail I guess?
No, you can't recall them, unfortunately.

Happened to a friend of ours once. I just never touch the 'reply to all' button.

3. There is a program available to recall e-mails
Heard about it on the Mike Malloy show. I think it's called String? Try google. May be too late this time, though.

5. early on in the days of distribution lists
I was part of a group that involved professors, educators and grad students across the country involving a national reform project.

Suddenly up pops a rather "snuggly" message from one of the members to the other (not quite lascivious... but not quite collegial either).

Everyone in my office received it (the sender was more than 3,000 miles away, but we were all on the distribution list.)

An hour or so later a rather humble explanation followed.

But the reality is, that a decade later, I am sure I am not the only recipient who recalls the event (and chuckles about it.)

7. You can recall AOL mail from other AOL subscribers
That's the only way I know how.

8. Thanks all for your comments!
I guess I am screwed, I inadvertently broke someone's anonymity in AA and sent it out to their friends and family.

Well, I guess I can write that relationship off. We weren't very close, more like friends who had lost touch and caught up w/ each other from time to time.

I can't believe I fucked this up - I feel terrible. My only hope is that people will not know what I meant by "going to meetings" and "having 5 years" means.

14. Thank you! That's nice to know!
I generally never do things like this or get in fights w/ people or anything like that, so when I do I am just panicked. :hi: Thanks1

12. Don't write this off.
Email or call your friend and tell her/him what happened. Handle it like the 12 steps advice.

Guidance and protection, we all make mistakes.

13. I am a coward - part of me just hopes she breezes through the
e-mail and doesn't notice or that her computer crashes. I was going to write a "sorry" e-mail right away, but she's kind of prickly and I didn't want to alert her before she had a chance to react.

I will ultimately do the right thing, although I will drag my feet for a while.

15. The "sorry" email is a good idea.

If it gets to be an issue, you could include a link to this thread. At least then she will know that you really did try to find a way to recall the message. And that you really do feel bad about it.
