SeattleGirl is NOT having a good workday!
My dog, who is normally a very good office companion (I work from home), won't sit still! She wants to lay in her doggie bed...no, she wants to go outside...no, she wants to play ball...no, she wants to lay in the window sill....no, oh she's not sure what she wants to do!

And, I am trying to download an on-line certificate for a security clearance I need (no, I'm not a spy, nothing so sexy as that), but I need to the clearance to do my job, and even though I followed all the instructions, I am getting the message that I have to call and talk to someone to finish the download....which means i will probably be on hold from now until sometime after Christmas!

I am supposed to be WORKING on my job today, but so far, I have accomplished almost nothing on my cases. :grr:

Okay, thank you for letting me rant......I'll take a deep breath now and try to accomplish something......

I'm so glad my fellow Loungers are here. :grouphug:

1. Advice:
Get a, ermm, cat? No, wait, they do the exact same thing! They want out when you're working just to come back in after a few seconds after you closed the door. Then they like to have snuggles and don't mind walking over your keyboard; I mean, why should we have a problem with that?

No worries, you'll get everything done.

2. Thanks Call Me Wesley.
Actually, I have three cats, and they usually aren't that much trouble, unless they decide they want to eat earlier than normal. Then they turn into "The Vultures", staring at me with baleful eyes.

Yeah, it'll get better. I was just getting frustrated at all the interference in doing my job. I'm starting to feel a little better though.....

Thanks for the hug!

Heidi and I are the targets of many interferences or surprises. Just last night, when I was ready to shut the machine off, I checked email for the last time to find one of my customer's. His forum was hacked, so I had to spent another hour fixing it, even waking up my server guy ...

22. Well, good for you for taking the time to help the customer.
I have now talked to one person, who said that I had to access another site, which I did. Nada.....

So now, I'm going to send an email to William the Great, my favorite IT person in my company. Hopefully he will be able to help!

17. Hahahaha!
No pity from you, I see!

I love working from home, but the unfortunate thing is I don't have face-to-face access to IT people, so when problems come up it takes a little longer because Miss Not-IT here doesn't always "get it" right away. Oh well.

I just read your post on the Seahawks -- they are doing SO well this year!

Well I hope somebody can keep the Cowboys out of the NFC championship. It does not look like the Eagles, Giants or Skins can do it.

15. Sorry for the bad day but still...
a day working from home is far better than sitting in a office in some building 1/2 hour from your home.

20. You are definitely right about that! Been home-based for almost
4 years, and despite the occasional frustrations, I wouldn't want to trade it in return for working in an office building!

BTW, I love your screen name...."A Pirate Looks At 40" is one of my favorite Jimmy Buffett songs!
