In equal of fairness tell me about your pet dog.
My mom has a 173 lb neopolitan mastiff named Rosalitta. We call her the purple lump because she just sits around the house. And I say that this is one spoiled pup because rosie gets bottled water and sleeps with a heatting pad.

1. Mine's an 18lb dachshund
His name is Chester and he loves carrots. He's wary of cats, but agressive with other dogs. He attacked a huge mastiff when I first took him to the vet.

2. I have a 100-pound Rottweiler, Legend, who is a big baby.
She looks intimidating, but she doesn't have a mean bone in her body. I inherited her from a friend who paid $1,500 for her because she wanted to breed her. But when my other Rottie died at the age of 11, my friend gave me Legend.

Then I have a little Benji-like foster dog, Dewey. He is 11 years old and no one seems to want to adopt a senior dog. So I am probably going to keep him.

3. My dogs are Cindy and Murphy
Cindy weighs almost 90 lbs and is part Catahoula Leopard and ???. She is almost three years old. She loves to play with her Boomer ball. She is really attached to me and won't even go for a walk with my husband if I don't go along. She likes to hike, but again, she stays near my side or behind me. She loves other people and dogs and thinks that everyone should want to be her friend :-).

Murphy is an Australian Cattle Dog and ??. He is almost three years old and weighs 51 lbs. He loves to play ball, but his favorite toys are little stuffed animals that he rips the stuffing out of and likes to run around with. Murphy loves to hike and is always ahead of us on the trail. He runs back and forth checking on us and probably puts in double the trail mileage. His favorite thing to do is to torment Cindy, coaxing her into chasing him around. He is wary around other people and other dogs. He will lick you to death if he likes you though.

Cindy and Murphy were both shelter puppies and I am glad they were there for us to adopt them at eight weeks old :-).

5. Ha ha! Sarah gets bottled water as well!
She is prone to stomach upset, and the vet recommended it as one way of managing the problem.

Sarah is an angel in a fur coat, though. She is so well behaved. Doesn't destroy anything. She was a stray we found, and it was one of the best things that ever happened to us.

She was also the inspiration for my master's thesis, which I am currently working on. It's about dogs, and I think I am going to dedicate it to her. But my husband will probably be jealous if I do!

6. Big Sexy is 130+ lbs of Great Dane
He thinks he's a lap dog. I adopted him when I was volunteering at my local humane society. It was his second time in a shelter, and he was only 7 months old. It took a couple years for him to get over his separation anxiety. He's 5 now. He's done some work as a canine good citizen, as I've taken him to visit camps for Jerry's Kids and other orgs with children with disabilities. He loves them and he's big enough that they can pretty much climb all over him if they want too.

Faz is a 10 year old somethingorother. He's 40 lbs of shedding fury. He (yes he) is the mother of them all. He cleans their teeth, herds them outside. My little helper. He also plays protector over little puppies we bring in. Just don't touch his feet.

Tink is a 4 year old pit/boxer/beagle mix (best guess). She was seen roaming the streets at a construction site 5 days straight when she was about 12 weeks old. She was living off garbage. The house she lived at kept their other dog in a kennel made out of 4 pallets. On day 6, snatched her ass, while she was dining on some pimento spread she had found. She keeps Faz young, as they roughhouse every night.

Riblet is a 3 year old rottie/sharpei mix that amazingly resembes Satchel from the "Get Fuzzy" comic strip. Acts like him too. Found him on the street. We decided to keep him as his back hips are terrible, and he'll need replacements or a little cart one day. We wanted to be sure that he gets that care when he needs it. Very glad we did, cuz he's awesome.

Those are my dogs. We also have 10 fosters in our home.

8. I have a terrier/beagle mutt named Luna
Edited on Wed Nov-16-05 11:00 AM by malta blue
She is 13 years old, honey-colored with grey around the muzzle. She has issues with trashing the garbage, but she is very well loved, sleeps under the covers of my bed (much to my new husband's chagrin), loves carrots and lettuce, and won the honor of "friendliest dog in town" at the local town celebrations 7 years running.

She is sooooo sweet.

11. I have a pack of dogs
Tyler is my lab mix - 90 lbs of sweetness
Magnolia is my blue tick hound - 85 lbs of personality
Chester is my beagle Brittany mix - the escape artist
Annabelle is my walker hound - a graceful elderly lady
Marley is my red tick foster child - he's been abused so he's rather skittish but he's coming along nicely.

All dogs were rescued from shelters. I can't imagine life without them. They are sleeping on my bed and couch as I'm slaving away here at work. Here's to all the DU dogs!!!:toast:

13. I grew up with a beautiful, kind-hearted, loving, loyal
Pembroke Welsh Corgi.

She was the most wonderful dog that ever lived, and even though she left this world when I was just 16, sometimes I still miss her.
