I told my grandma yesterday
that I would like to spend Christmas with her.

Me: I wanna give you a fair warning that I am coming
Her: I need no warning. You can always come. You could even just pop up in front of my door and you are more than welcome.

Gotta love that woman :loveya:

9. How wonderful for you!
Sounds like Christmas will be a great time for you. Reminds me of how much I miss my gran. She was like that. I could be there as often and as much as I wanted. She was my best friend for so many years.

Enjoy here while you have her. I'm envious of you. :hi:

11. thanks
I still have both grandmas. The one I am going to visit over Christmas was always my favorite. So yes, I will enjoy it. She lives 5-6 hours away from me, so I don't see her often over the year.

17. I remember your old one, that was lovely as well.
The drawings don't really look like real cats, but the illustrator has beautifully captured something of the spirit of felinity. Great stuff.

Mrs Taxloss and I both love cats (and dogs) and could keep one but don't really have the space - it wouldn't be a good enough home. But when we get somewhere larger, we'll get a kitten.

Brooke McEldowney really captures the spirit. Looks like he is owned by cats.

I would love to have a kitten myself again, but I don't have the time. I am gone over the weekends often, so it wouldn't just be fair to the cat.

51. It's time for the sadness to end.
I think it's time for me to start looking for my mother's family. I'd like to know what type of folks they were. It's very likely that I have 1/2 brothers or sisters. They could tell me about my mother and what she did with her life.

I'm sure my maternal grandmother must gone by now but it would be fun to see old pictures of her.

They talk about all kinds of things and Grandma really enjoys it. It's good for me, too -- she tells him to make lots of happy memories with me. :)

I'm glad you have two grandmas! How nice!

the 24th is the main day for us (we get the present on Christmas Eve). I think I will take the car. I have some reasons to take the car, even though the drive itself to Potsdam will be hell. Unless I take the Friday off and get an early start.

48. Since my father was in the military, we hardly had time around family.
So, I'm not particularly close with any family. My mom's family is in another country, so I've only met one of her brothers and his wife.

It's just us three. :)
