it is hard to explain. The entries in the online catalog are either wrong, or I can't find them or it is the wrong signature to the right book ..... you can chose :eyes:

23. Good to hear all's well.
The B.B.C. say that it's 44 here - but they also claim that we're having light showers, and there's barely a cloud in the sky, certainly not rain-clouds either.

I'm sitting drinking some green-tea, and once I've got through that may well raid the chocolate in my desk drawer (I was forced to buy it yesterday - gorgeous 70% stuff). Listening to Malengreau here (which probably means as much to you as Rick Springfield does to me  ).

All in all, life's not bad at all, but do have to get on with some work - which certainly isn't so good.

30. Life would be so totally damn boring if everybody was the same.
I ordered a few new C.D.s last week, and was listening to them at work (on headphones as always) by some extreme fluke one of my office-mates has similar tastes to myself and was very interested in them.

The third person in the office, who is more typical in her tastes said she didn't mind hearing a dash of it, so I put it on the speakers instead of the headphones - the look on her face was extraordinary, she had never heard anything like it before and was totally bemused at how anybody could like it - whilst the other two of us were sitting entranced.

Vive la difference say I.

38. I agree.
I collect all kinds of music. I know this is going to make me sound like a geek...but I collect radio jingles also (you know, the musical shorts radio stations play between songs where the singers sing the stations call letters a frequency) and I have some radio station software on my computer that automates the mixing of the music, jingles, commercials, etc. All I have to do is indicate which songs I want played in the playlist and the software builds it, inserts the jingles, and so it's like listening to the radio without any commercials or DJ's! I have a lot of fun with it, let me tell ya! :bounce:

Edited on Wed Nov-16-05 06:37 AM by BuffyTheFundieSlayer
I looked him up on Real Player and the only listing they have for him is a collection of organ music. I was just wondering if he did any other types of works (piano, orchestral, etc).

But then I'm heavily into the modern French organ school - I'd guess that he may have a few other compositions round the edges. Amazon.co.uk only has him down with organ C.D.s

56. Well I can certainly understand THAT.
Greekspeak is going through the same thing at FSU. Not only does he have classes to do work in, but he's also teaching, so he has to work out lectures, tests, etc. He's pulling his hair out too.

73. Is Frat Row full of meat-heads
drinking beer and ogling women? That's what the frat guys at my school are like, anyway. There was a big scandal a few weeks ago when 32 of them were arrested at a party for being too loud and having minors there drinking. *sigh* Will they ever grow up?

I knew a guy from high school who decided to go to FSU, and when I asked him why, he replied, "It's been voted the number one party school five years in a row!" I asked him if he cared at all about his education and he said, "No! Beer! Pot! Bitches! That's what I care about."

I really haven't talked to him since.

Time for bed..

It's late here - not that I follow soccer but I just watched Australia defeat Uruguay to go to next year's World Cup for I think only the second time ever (last time in 1974) - so that's gonna be all over the papers here tomorrow.

103. I was sleeping very late this morning.
I need to recover from all my running around last week.

It seems as if I became over tired and couldn't sleep. I was up for 24 hours between Monday morning and Tuesday morning. I haven't done that in many years.

105. It's very bad for the body and mind to be deprived of sleep.
I stayed away from everyone as much as possible yesterday because I'm sorry to say that I was a real bitch on wheels. But I did make good use of my discomfort directing it toward a small but irritating problem that was coming to a head and needed to be dealt with anyway. Luckily there was no blood letting, no tears just steam coming out of everyone's ears for a little while. Did you feel the earth move around 3 PM?

How are they hangin'?

I stayed up so long one time in school working on a project that when I finally walked home to sleep all the trees and plants had auras. I think I messed my sleep patterns up all too well during school.

111. It has to be done a few times when studying.
My favourite was essays due in on Friday morning - go out with chums on Thursday evening, then get back home about midnight, drink oooooooodles of coffee and write the essay overnight to hand in at 9 in the morning.

Also - election nights, as our results are hand-counted the polls close at 10 p.m., the first result will be declared at about 10:45 - then they start to flow in with most arriving between about 2 and 4 a.m. If there's going to be a change of government, the new P.M. will be called in by the Queen late morning - to be at his desk in Number 10 by about 1.

In 1997 I was a mere 17 year-old, I was at school all day Thursday, then up all night, back into school for Friday morning - fortunately my timetable meant that I was off on Friday afternoon, I was back home by midday to watch Blair arrive at Downing Street - then to bed.

Hope all's well mon cher

Today's going well, thanks. Yesterday was rollicking good fun. Today I am more about my business. We are finishing interviews for a new office assistant and I have a few end-of-month deadlines that I have to remember to complete with the Thanksgiving holidays coming.

Everything is agreeable and it's great to see you about. :loveya:

Now to look up Malengreau (after I check back with the post for spelling).
