'Christian Family' Ends Up With '666' License Plate

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. -- Ken Hasenmueller and his wife have been feeling a little uncomfortable while in the family car.

The car itself -- a 1996 cherry red Oldsmobile Cutlass -- is fine. It's the license plate that's the problem. They were randomly assigned 666-KEN.

"Initially, I thought it was interesting," Ken Hasenmueller said of the pairing of his first name with the numeric symbol for the Antichrist. "But then I thought that people might think I was Satanist."

Hasenmueller said he was worried others would assume he requested the devilish plates. He plans to trade them in for new ones.

"I wouldn't want people thinking I was interested in that sort of thing," Hasenmueller said. "You don't want this sort of thing on your car."

"We are a very strong Christian family," added his wife, Jean.

I'm finally feeling rested from last week. I haven't walked out of my door since Sunday night but I am thinking about going for a short drive into town. I have 3 rolls of film I should drop off. My camera is currently empty and I don't like to leave it like that. I need to buy more film.

Maybe I'll get around to it today or tomorrow but no later than Friday for sure.

I wonder if the DMV or whatever it is in Wisconsin will even let them get new plates for such superstitious reasons....

I worked in an evil bank once to survive. Some bible thumper took out a loan and her account number included ...666... She demanded that it be changed. Amongst us proles, it was leave it. But the nepots in management relented.

Wonder if someone at the DMV was playing a prank on them?

I laughed my all of thinking about the people I have observed who are so terrified of the # 666 that if their total at the check out comes to that, they actually run to grab something, ANYTHING for the clerk to ring up so the total will be different.

Have seen that several times. While I used to find it amusing, I now find it hysterically funny.

Poor at rational though might just lead to poor at math? Teaches everybody right for getting so hung up on literal interpretation of books that have been translated, mis-translated and edited many times by people with their own agendas.

Just read about all the rapture stuff being put together by a pair of bible scholars less than 200 years ago too. That was good for giggles.

I have a fundy aunt who had her phone number changed because it had three sixes in it. They weren't even consecutive, but she's pretty superstitious!
