1. Depends on how hungry I am.
If I'm starving and want to shovel food in I stick with a fork. Otherwise chopsticks are fine.

2. Depends
On how fast I want to eat. You can shovel rice in pretty fast with chopsticks, though.

It really helps you concentrate on what you are eating and eat slower too. My MIL eats everything (and I mean everything) with chopsticks. She carries them in her purse.

22. Really? Not any?
Because there are a lot of vastly different types of Asian food out there (maybe because there are about 3 billion Asian people I guess), I would be surprised to find that someone didn't like any of them. I don't like them all but I really love Vietnamese, Thai, Indian, Japanese, Chinese, Korean... well, a lot of them!

Oh well, to each his own! :)

56. No, this is definitely Chinese. Chinese own the place and
cook the food. Plus I have had these at quite a few different Chinese restaurants. They are deep fried with cream cheese (and sometimes crab meat)in the middle! You should try them, they are good. I promise they are Chinese!

61. I've had cream cheese wontons at Chinese and Thai places.
They're usually called "fried wontons" or "crab wontons," in my experience, but they are definitely filled with a cream cheese mixture.

65. Oh yeah very common
AKA "crab puffs" however what little crab there is is the variety that starts with a K.

I don't view them as Asian either - very little dairy in most Asian cuisine, but then chilis are from the new world and they are sure good in Asian food so who am I to judge?

Except for eating sushi. That I eat with my hands. (I was told that's why they give you the bowl with the hot towels for)

I'm sure you could get a fork and knife if you really wanted one, but I never bothered asking.

On edit: spelled restaurant wrong. You'd think that after working in them for 12 years, I could get that one right...

18. Yes, it tastes wrong when eaten with a fork
Before going to Japan, I practiced with pencils and practiced until I could pick up peanuts. I found that my hands hurt from using unaccustomed muscles at first, but I no longer have that problem.

(BTW, Thai curries--and Japanese curry rice-- are supposed to be eaten with a spoon, although noodles are eaten with chopsticks.)

52. Wow I thought it was just me
People always look at me odd when I say the food just tastes better when using chopsticks. I don't know why, it just does.

My mom's a nurse and worked with a lot of Asians, and they used to always go out to dinner and take me along, especially when I was little. So my "aunties" taught me how to use chopsticks when I was 9. It just comes natural to me.

19. Not all Asian cuisines are eaten with chopsticks.
Filipino food, for instance, is not. But yes, when appropriate, I eat with chopsticks. Many dishes are actually easier to eat with chopsticks, I've found. But it does take some practice. I had a hard time at first but something just clicked one day and now I have no problem. I was complimented on my chopstick skills several times when I was in Japan.

I'm actually much more in control of chopsticks than I am with a fork.

Once, when I got a salad and pot stickers from a take-out noodle chain, my boss saw me and asked why I was eating the salad with chopsticks. (They forgot to put a fork in my bag.)
