how long have you been marred?
To make defective; to do injury to, esp. by cutting off or defacing a part; to impair; to disfigure; to deface.
1913 Webster

I'd say for something like 4 years now...

6. How long have you been marred?
Me, I got into the razor blades and gave myself a nice scar on the keypunching pad of my right index finger when I was three. So I have been marred for 41 years.

Subsequently I was marred when I was shoved into a radiator at the age of 10, which left me with a 2" vertical scar on the back of my head (the scalp, how it bleeds!).

And of course I was marred by being raised in a fundamentalist Christian household.

How long have you been marred?

In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

10. Wow, I was also marred by being raised fundamentalist.
I was marred at age five when I fell down and a rock got embedded in my knee. I still have the scar. :)

16. Well, my parents went from Southern Baptist to Foursquare (pentacostal)
to charismatic (a non-denominational church). If you're ever in Tuolumne County and wish to be shocked, attend Chapel in the Pines in Twain Harte. :D

After I was molested by a member of the Baptist Church, my family went to the Foursquare Church. When it was learned that the pastor of that church was molesting little boys, they stopped attending church as regularly, but I still went to a fundy school from 2nd grade through 12th. That place fucked up a lot of kids. It's still running and I wonder what goes on there.

21. Gee. Foursquare is big in anti-gay politics here in Oregon.
I was molested by a Lutheran babysitter once.

I'm sorry to hear of your own difficulties in this regard.

I hope you're doing well these days.

24. I'm trying, but I have to admit the fundy upbringing left me
quite traumatized. :(

Between the molestation and the fundy idea that "sex is bad," I have never been able to achieve sexual wholeness. I don't talk about the details on this forum because 1) they're too personal and 2) they were used against me on a so-called "support" forum.

At this point I think it's too late. I plan to pour myself into music and, if I ever feel good enough again, art, as well. Maybe that will be fulfilling enough.

26. The anti-sex indoctrination is a huge obstacle for many former fundies.
I hear what you're saying.

By the same token, music and art are two of life's most enriching forces. Immersion seems to be the ticket, if you can swing it.

Best to you.

14. A long time probably, but you could make yourself feel better about
it by having a Soft Gelatin Multiple twice daily, and being very generous with yourself via the thumb-controlled morphine pump.

18. nearly 14 years ago from two separate bull riding accidents
exacerbated by my wrestling career too. Had my left shoulder reconstructed August 1993 and my right knee eventually reconstructed in December 1999.

And, that is only two marrings. :) I have many more.

It's not too hard to actually get on a bull when you are young and completely nuts. :) I have since become much saner and smarter. :)

Dislocated my shoulder 22 times in one year before I had it reconstructed too. It got so bad I would do it in my sleep, haha.
