After a potent combo of Theraflu, DayQuil, Chicken Noodle Soup.....
orange juice and nearly 30 hours sleep in two days, I feel halfway normal right now. I still could barely get out of bed today, but I think I can actually make it to class again tomorrow.

Man, this flu stuff sucks. Bad. I hope it's not the bird flu. I never should have beat up that ostrich last week. He asked for it though. Nobody talks about my momma like that!

But seriously, I have been wiped out. Maybe next year I'll get a flu shot. I never have had one, because I don't get sick very often, but when I do it really seems to lay me out. It takes a lot out of my work and so forth.

1. I'm surviving on Double noodle soup, OJ, and hot cider right now.
I have slept most of the last few days away too. Damn I hate the flu.

3. Glad you are feeling better.
I felt the flu coming on so I took this product and it really worked for me. It called oscillococcinum, bought it at Whole Foods Market.

The flu symptoms just went away very quickly, I couldn't afford to be sick right now.

Don't try to go back to school to fast, you might get sick again.

5. But damn, I really need to study
wait.... no I don't. :)

I'll see in the morning. My classes tomorrow are optional, so they aren't any big deal. I do have a test to pick up though, and there is this really gorgeous girl in the class that I talk to sometimes. But, I'm not that shallow.

10. Do take it a little easy, the flu is nothing to mess with.
You must be feeling better if you are thinking about girls.

we always think about girls. We could be getting boiled in a vat of oil and if a good looking woman walked by she'd have our attention. :)

4. The flu does suck
I've only had it once as an adult and it hit me hard. My fever was as high as 104.5 at one point, which had me considering a trip to the doctor, but it finally dropped to a less disturbing 102 so I kept up with OTC therapy and pulled through ok. I've only had one flu shot ever, but I'm wondering if I should get one this year just in case.

6. I seem to have a lighter case than 'most everyone
and it's not holding me back from midnight Harry Potter!

Nosiree!

OJ, Aprodine, ibuprofin, oscillococcimum, theophylline, and singulair are getting the job done!

9. mine was light at first
been fighting it off for a few weeks. I thought it went away then it came back and knocked me loopy for the last four days, haha.

Mine hasn't kept me from watching Pro wrestling tapes at all. Nothing short of Armageddon could do that. :)

8. Purely anecdotally speaking, I used to get the flu every year....
...my last year in college - 20 some odd years ago - I had the flu so bad, that I literally thought I was going to be one of those flu death statistics. After that, I've gotten a flu shot every year, and haven't had the flu since. You may want to try it. Look at the alternative....you've just experienced it.

11. I used to get it every year
and now it's more like every two years. I know what you mean. I've had it so bad a few times I thought I was about to die. I couldn't even move for two days one time about 4 or 5 years ago. My roommate was spraying all this disinfectant stuff around he was so scared he'd catch it from me, haha.

Yeah, I'm seriously considering a flu shot from now on.

14. never take tylenol
I usually try not to take anything unless I really need it. Pills frighten me. I have addicts in my family so I just never started taking any kind of pill, even over the counter stuff. Used to be an athlete too so I was a health nut when I was younger.

But, yeah, it does practically make me an invalid too. I know what you mean.

I hear those ostriches can be pretty darn tough and ornery. The trick is to get them to swallow something really big so it gets caught in their throat....

Anyway, you gotta stand up for mothers everywhere and at any time.

28. Hanging in there
MHC showed me a thread where y'all were talking about me; it makes me all warm and fuzzy just knowing that. I would have a real problem being a night-hawk on DU as I go to bed early, but rise early. Converting everything to your time zone, I'm hitting the hay around 7:30 pm or so, but hey, I'm up with the chickens about 3:30-4:00am and at work by 5:30am (your time).

Classes are wearing me down; thank goodness it's the weekend and I only have to come in on Monday and Tuesday before I can finally have a holiday.

I plan on resting, reading and to finish painting my condo. Five whole days of freedom to do as I please.

I finally have my sister moved back to town (phew!). She owned a house in Charlottesville, VA and a condo in NYC (a real fancy-schmancy high rise on the East River at 23rd St.). I drove my father's pick-up into Manhattan to 'gently' carry a load of her things back down here... well, put your imagination to work concerning all the cat-calls I received from those damned yankees as I drove a Chevy pick-up with SC plates in NYC. OK, I'll admit it: it was fun shouting back taunts in the highest tradition of Monty Python, et al.

Crap! I just noticed the time and will have a room full of 16 and 17 year-olds in here in three minutes, so I gotta go. I'll be on-line this weekend and will look for your posts a 'stalk' you.

Do you recall thinking I was Mutley? That was a real doozie!

I just randomly was yelling something about her. In my one of my goofy moods at the time. :)

Oh, I would have loved to see you and the NYers taunting back and forth and each other.

Damn, I better go to bed. I suppose since it's Saturday I'll be seeing you around. Take it easy.

37. The Worm Song
Nobody loves me, everybody hates me,
Think I'll go and eat worms;
Long thin skinny ones;
Big fat juicy ones,
See how they wriggle and squirm.

Bite their heads off,
Suck their blood out,
Throw their skins away,
Nobody knows how much I thrive
On worms three times a day.

Long thin skinny ones slip down easily,
Big fat juicy ones stick;
Hold your head back,
Squeeze their tail,
And their juice just goes drip, drip.
