Cult 60s TV show "The Prisoner" returning a new, reworked series

Prisoner will return to TV screens

Cult 1960s television show 'The Prisoner' is set to return to the small screen as a new, reworked series.

Trade magazine Broadcast reports that Sky One is in talks about bringing back the show, which starred its co-creator Patrick McGoohan as Number Six, a former secret agent trapped in an isolated village.

Speaking to Broadcast about the new series, executive producer Damien Timmer said: "Although it will be a radical reinvention, it will still be a heightened show with themes such as paranoia, conspiracy and identity crisis."

The new version will be remade by Granada, with Sky One eyeing an eight-part series.

I will remain skeptical till I see it. The original was one of the finest things ever done on television. The end of the last episode was just chilling. I doubt it can be improved upon, but it certainly can be FUBARed. (edited for typo)
