1. They will: 1. Make you drunk, and
2. Give you a skull busting hangover.

Used to drink those after dinner in my salad days.
whew

4. I didn't say they weren't.
I just remember doing the Marine Crawl out to the car so I could get home.

Some of us are not familiar with this particular nectar of the gods, yet.

5. Get yerself a good brandy (but not a really good one), and some
Creme de menthe, but not the green stuff, the clear stuff, and mix 4:1 (brandy:menthe). Like any proper cocktail, shake and serve straight up.

You can garnish with a maraschino cherry if you are unable to leave your college years of sweet alcohol instead of alcohol that's worth drinking and appreciating, or you can drink it properly and maturely, with no garnish or with a mint leaf.

6. Wow....
I have to go shopping for a party we're hosting next month... I'll have to make sure that those two make it on the list!

7. An excellent party cocktail!
But do be careful - as Trof mentioned above, they sneak up on ya, even though it's a legitimate (and not a girl or a college) cocktail.

8. Yeah, they sound a little dangerous...
I'll probably just drink wine for the party, but I'll definitely give this one a try at some point... Thanks for the info!

9. Call me old fashioned (or make me one), but you can't beat
real hot chocolate and schnapps.

10. I prefer a snifter of B & B after coming in from the cold outdoors...
...but a stinger sounds good, too.

11. No, ossifer, thatsh just mouthwash you smelll....
It is sadly fitting that my inital posting on the DU would be in praise of liquor...
I must point out, though, that the substitution of Peppermint Schnapps for the Creme de Menth is entirely acceptable, resulting in a Snowshoe. I can count on one hand the number of bartenders in town that know either Stingers or Snowshoes. Sad state of affairs, if you ask me.
Now, if you reverse the proportions, i.e., more schnapps than brandy, you get an Aubergut, with an umlaut, which itself has an umlaut, ad nauseum...
Either way, booze mixed with booze with no dilution other than ice will creep up on you in a hurry. Good thing the Avenue or the Bou are only a short stumble away.
