Hot Dog Eating Champ Defends His Burger Title (Kobayashi)

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- One of the world's top competitive eaters has defended his hamburger-eating title.

Takeru Kobayashi of Japan wolfed down 67 miniature burgers in eight minutes to win the contest in Chattanooga. Aside from a championship belt, he also takes home a $10,000 check.

Kobayashi won last year by eating 69 burgers.

A spokesman for the International Federation of Competitive Eating said Kobayashi is also a five-time Nathan's hot dog eating champ.

Kobayashi, who has become one of the most recognized faces in competitive eating, currently holds the world's records for eating hot dogs, hamburgers, rice balls and cow brains.
