A direct deposit question:
Edited on Mon Nov-21-05 06:38 PM by tjdee
A few weeks ago I got all fouled up because my payday fell on Vets Day (Friday)--the deposit did not go through until the following Monday (the next business day).

If I'm supposed to be paid this Friday (I think we call in the hours on Wednesdays), will I be? Or will I have to wait until Monday (November 28) again because of Thanksgiving?

I miss the days of weekly paychecks. :(

1. Most companies pre-deposit for holidays or weekends.
Ex if paid on 15 and 30, and the 15 is a sunday - deposit goes in on Friday the 13th. I never counted on it (as drew on it) but it always seemed to be there and I knew it was policy. That has been true with various organizations for which I have worked.

3. Yup, that's exactly what did *not* happen last time.
I'm not sure if it's because the pay person didn't call the hours in a day earlier, or what.

This time is different, because the holiday is Thursday, and not Friday.... but I just got a horrible feeling in my stomach about it. :scared:

2. same here...
At the work now & my previous place of employment... holidays resulted in having the
funds deposited a day or two earlier.

This always equated to the previous 'normal business day.'

All the best & Happy PayDay, whenever it is!
