Ask any nurse. btw I'm not one but had to take care of a couple of patients (close family members) and that is what the doctor prescribed for their treatment. The ones I had to insert were pain killers - they worked wonders for their respective patients. However thinking about doing it - eurgh :( - you got to do what you got to do in order to keep your patients comfortable.

42. No but i once lost part of my glasses in my ear for three days.
I had a really nasty habbit of scrathing my ears with the handle tips of my glasses. Unfortunately the handle in my glasses broke off and I had to dig in with tweesers to pull it out.
