Holy Crap..........I need a beer.
I've been in GD all day. My head is going to explode.

The thing is, while I love the lounge, I have to do that every now and then. Especially today, when I'm a bit snarky. It's like purposely listening to Dr. Laura and yelling at her through the radio. You could just turn the channel, but you'd rather listen and become enraged instead.

Such is my life in GD.

Any opinions on good beer? I had Summit EPA last weekend. And I've been drinking an Oregon Pinot Noir (King Estate) this week. I would like something unique and hoppy. Give me a couple suggestions and hopefully I'll be able to find them here.

1. Tupper's Hop Pocket Ale
but you probably can't get it in the northwest. Old Dominion Brewery, Virginia.

Very hoppy, very good.

3. I've heard of that one.
It's highly regarded on the east coast. I don't think it ships too far west though. I'll try to find a website though. One nice thing about North Dakota is that we can have liquor shipped here. LOL.

4. Nope, EPA.
Summit makes both. The IPA is my favorite beer. It reminds me of the Northern climates. The EPA is the Extra Pale Ale. It's got a little less bite and less aroma. It's easy to drink though. Yummy.

7. They made that up.
Extra Pale Ale?
Sounds like it should be considered an Extra Strong Bitters(ESB) according to the judging guides.

But I know that a lot of other breweries sell it too. And that's what it's called. :toast:

6. Can't find it here. Although when I lived in Oregon, I drank it....
...all the time.

It'll kill you though. It's high in AC. Really good too, which makes it dangerous.

Thanks.

10. Dogfish looks interesting.
I'll have to see if I can come across that somehow. Look as though the nearest distributors are Colorado and Wisconsin. I'll check again though.

I've had Red Hook. It's good stuff too.

Deschutes' Jubelale.

15. Ohh Deschutes "Jubelale" was so good.

I had that a couple times out in Oregon. Can I get it in the Northern Midwest, ala North DAktoa, Minnesota? Just wondering.

I've had the Sierra Nevada "celebration ale", but never the Summit. I'll have to try that.

16. Hit me twice on the head and hand me a beer.
Of course, Sierra Nevada is what I meant. Must've had Summit on the brain after reading your OP!

18. Doh. I just though there might have been two different kinds.
No rules against that.

Celebration Ale packs a punch man. It's like 8% alcohol. It'll kill you.

17. Try Victory's HopDevil if you can get it.
The DFH IPAs are worth searching out as well, as stated by others in this thread.

There are always the old standbys like Lagunitas IPA, and Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Sierra Nevada also puts out a Christmas IPA called Celebration Ale, but it's always too over-the-top-hopped for my tastes.

19. I liked Celebration Ale when I had it in Oregon.
But I had too many of them. Their alcohol content is a little higher, and I was floored.

That looks like a good website. Might have to contact them about having some new and interesting beers sent to me. It's alway fun to get THOSE in the mail.
