32. True story: Duct tape bikini wax
My roommate in college was going to go swimming with his girlfriend when we started joking about her...ermm..."stray hairs". She said that she wanted to wax, but that she couldn't afford it (we were all poor college students). My roommate, in a fit of utter stupidity or brilliance (not sure which), comes up with the idea of the duct tape bikini wax. His girlfriend was actually dumb enough to let him TRY it on her!

I don't think she ever spoke to him again after that, at least not in words that can be repeated around civil company.

45. You'll never guess what most of it CAN'T be used for
And that's taping ducts.

According to code, ONLY UL-approved duct tape can be used for taping ducts. UL approves duct tape by setting it on fire and analyzing the smoke that comes off it. They don't want the duct tape throwing off cyanide gas or something if it catches fire, which is quite understandable.

So most duct installers use three-foot-long cable ties now.

72. Gaffer's tape has a different adhesive
At least the official gaffer's tape does--it's made to not get rubber adhesive all over everything.

'Course, nowadays with money as tight as it is gaffers probably use good old-fashioned duct tape to gaff with.

An epsom salt soak followed by a poultice and a whole lot of duct tape is the best remedy for an abcessed hoof! :)
I always have duct tape on hand at the barn! I once saw a photo of a horse who had been injured in a hurricane  and his terrible facial and chest injuries were bandaged and held together with duct tape! (I think that the horse recovered OK.)
