Poll question: Stuffing or dressing
Are you going to stuff the bird or cook it on the side?

meegbear is cooking his bird on the Webah, and always cooks it on the side.

3. Both actually, but I call 'em stuffing
always make extra so some can be baked in a dish with a crispy crust on top.

4. Cool poll cause I wondered this myself..
I think it's a regional dialect thingee..

Where I was raised it was always dressing.

6. Since I started cooking outside the bird these past few years ...
I've been calling it dressing.

7. We've never called it dressing (is it a regional thing?), so
I'd feel weird doing it now.

My mom and grandma never stuffed the turkeys either.

8. I call it stuffing, no matter where it is.
I know the proper term should be dressing, but I don't care!

I wanted to make mine in muffin tins this year, the way Rachel Ray did... trying to remember the recipe. :(

I meant my mom's recipe... I copied Rachel's, but my mom's is my favorite.

16. Interesting. It's always chicken-&-dressing, but turkey-with-stuffing.

At least in the south.
I also go with "inside the bird, it's stuffing, outside, it's dressing".

19. We are going to deep fry it... (1st time)
Not sure what the plan is. My sister is the person that deals with these little details. I think she is going with the directions from America's Test Kitchen.

20. Didn't you watch CNN? You'll blow yourselves sky high.
They did a whole segment on Turkey Fryer Tragedies.

You'd think a Turkey had gone missing on Aruba.

22. Our turkey is genetically engineered to only contain dark meat..
We might burn the house down. At least the local news will spare us the embarrassment of reporting our stupidity.

I may try it some time. Been grilling mine, excluding last year, since '99 and haven't looked back.
