Ok who else is spending Thanksgiving alone or with just their pets?
Edited on Wed Nov-23-05 04:26 PM by KyndCulture
I am... just broke up with my boyfriend of 7 years a couple weeks ago and my family is 1800 miles away...

So it's me and the cat tomorrow... I think I'll make a cornish game hen and give the kitty her very own can of salmon and catch up on DU.

Anybody else alone for the holiday? I'm thankful for DU cause at least I *feel* like i'm not alone.

:toast: Happy Thanksgiving!

1. You're not alone
I could go to my wife's family dinner, but like liberal esto said, better to have a simple meal in peace, than have your stomach turning over at a feast.

So, it'll be just me and the cats, and that's the way I want it, enjoy your hen.

4. Yup
Me and the cat and football on TV. The feast will be a Pizzeria Uno frozen pizza. Maybe I will treat Max (the cat) to a can of tuna.

6. I would prefer spending Thanksgiving alone with my doggies.
But my son and his new wife have invited me to their house. I am a vegetarian and they will be cooking the traditional turkey. So I said to please have plenty of veggie side dishes. Also, I have to drive about 40 miles to their house. Not a trip I am looking forward to.

8. Yep, me.
My parents are out of the country right now, and I can't even visit other relatives because I need to finish six months at my job before I can take a vacation.

9. Now you know I can't make it to where you are, KyndCulture
but I will be with you in spirit. You will not be alone, I'll see you in threads and am sending you cyber hugs and good energies.

And heck the cornish hen sounds great. I don't think they have all that chemical in them that make you want to take a nap right after you have finished the meal.

Have a good one and I will look for you at DU tomorrow.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING! :hi:  :pals:

15. Aw, thanks - I didn't mean to worry folks
I am so grateful that all of my family survived and we are all healthy and able to see this Thanksgiving. There are others worse off, I am blessed with what I have and that I have you and others on DU pulling for me and sending out good vibes and positive energies.

10. This year I am, don't want to travel.
I also need to work on my house, only one room to go. Only took 5 years to finish but my home is almost complete.

I am smoking a turkey and made my dressing, I have great neighbors for company if I feel the need.

Have a good turkey day everyone.

14. They won't even let me have pets
:( Mom will, however, be making the trip at Christmas; there are dolphins involved...

Cubiclemate has been bugging me all week to come to his house. Although he is decidedly less repuke than he was when he got here, and has even started reading DU!, it's a lengthy bus ride on crappy holiday schedules, not to mention I don't know any of his family! I have, however, scored some sliced turkey, turkey gravy, and Stove Top; wine and treats to be acquired on the way home.
