northwest gets 3,000 posts, other DUers don't notice Duke Plopp 20, November 2003 Crapola Herald

FARGO, ND - After over 20 months of post after futile post and getting very little credit from others at Democratic Underground, northwest reached the 3,000-post mark late this afternoon. When asked by this reporter about the milestone, northwest replied, "Well, it's nice that I was able to have an outlet to express my emotions and talk about my political feelings in a productive enviornment, but I feel that I really haven't been noticed. I mean, what's the point of posting 3,000 messages when nobody's going to respond to them? What's the point of posting probably over 300 threads when they're just going to drop into the archives in an hour?"
Other problems surround the now-veteran poster. northwest's 3,000-post mark comes almost a week after he mailed in his donation check to the Democratic Underground. "I mailed it first-class, definitely," he said. "I had the correct postage, address, I wrote the check to 'Democratic Underground LLC', and I haven't recieved my star yet. It's another thing that kinda makes me feel seperated from the rest. I also bought a $40 donor t-shirt from DU last spring, and never recieved a star. But even after the feelings of being an outcast and the feelings you got jipped, you just gotta keep at it, you know?"
Analysts from the firm Nerd and Geek say that the 3,000 posts northwest sent were the least replied to posts in terms of total responses in DU history. But northwest isn't too bothered by that.
"Sometimes, it's good to be a faceless slug," he said.
Other DUers were unavailable for comment.
