I'm one. We are so cool, everyone can take our blood. Universal donor, baby!

I donate every 56 days, like clockwork. Blood donors saved my grandmother's life at a time when I really needed her. It's my way of repaying the debt.

10. If you're O negative like me, or one of the "rare" types

B negative or something, then you may get to be a hero in a very direct way. I've been called before from the hospital during "critical shortage" times and told things like, "There's an 8 year old in here dying from a car wreck -- how quick can you get down here?" That's happened twice. UNBELIEVABLY good feeling. Now the LifeSouth place has me on speed dial. LOL.
