Wow, where does the time go? 30th Anniversary of my first
day in VietNam.
Only reason I remember it is because as the Jeep was pulling into the Embassy there was some kind of ceremony for the 10th anniversary of JFK's murder.

Where does the time go?

4. Navy Corpsman
Yeah, I got there for the mop-up stuff, and all the fun of leaving.

5. Sounds like it
I appreciate you brother, but I don't envy you much. ;)

I had a buddy who was also a corpsman although later than you. Served on the Comfort.

3. Wow!
Thanks for all you did, WJMS. :) I always love to find out that fellow DUers are veterans because I think they always add an extra dose of credibility to the cause. I somehow remember you served, but I didn't know it was in Vietnam.

6. I am glad you are back home with us.
Words cannot express how much I wish you didn't have to celebrate that anniversary, but extremely glad you are able to mark it.

Hugs, Laura

8. For me, it's 30 years since 9th grade
...but for my husband, it's about 30 years since he was married the first time. He was already back from Vietnam by 1973.

10. Very low number... 2, I recall
So, I enlisted in the Navy to stay out of the Army and well, I thought out of the war.
Oops.
Shit happens.
