Has this happened to you on DU?

You post articles/columns first, had someone else post it later, the mods don't let the second poster know it's a dupe, and the second poster has their post make it to the home page.

Know What? I'm posting this tomorrow morning, and seeing if I get more replies.

I love DU, but this kind of pisses me off. I know this is petty bullshit, but whenever I accidentally post something that's already on DU, they're quick to point it out to me. Not trying to start a fight here; just asking for fair and equal treatment.

In GDP and the other poster posted in LBN.

It wasn't a dupe. It was two completely different forums. Get a grip, and be more thorough before you publicly put down the great DU mods for no reason.

The person didn't follow the rules, and the mods weren't paying attention. It was the exact same story. You may think "it's no reason" but all I know is someone wasn't doing their job. The mods do a great job overall. I'm just not going to kiss their asses.

It was LBN. Period. In fact, the poster did it within 20 minutes of yours, so again you are making assumptions that are incorrect.

You posted in GDP, he posted in LBN. There is no problem, no miss by the mods, and no rules broken.

I posted first. The other person posted THE EXACT SAME ARTICLE; regardless of where he posted it, it was a duplicate posting. Second, it wasn't LBN. If it had been, I would have posted it there (due to the dateline of it in the Washington Post when I saw it last night). I am well aware of the rules for posting LBN. The other person should have checked to see if the article had been posted in any other forum (this is what I generally try to do when I post articles).

I must say, I think you're getting a lot huffier over this than I actually am about the whole thing. I actually put up this poll as sort of a joke (I know it's happened to others, as a long-time DU'er here). I have a sarcastic sense of humor. Apparently, it's been lost on you.

It WAS LBN. What can't you understand? The date on the article is today for god's sake. And it is NOT a duplicate posting. It was in two COMPLETELY different threads. Admit you are wrong, say "Sorry Mods, I didn't think it through", and move on.

Edited to add: you can post the same article in different forums, that does not make it a dupe.

Secondly, the poster in LBN posted Latest Breaking News. That article appeared in the Post's Sunday edition last night, probably not long before the other person posted it. So, they did not break the rules. You may want to check your facts before you go spouting off.

And please don't add that I'm taking this too seriously, and you're just joking around. You are the one who started two different threads to complain about this.

If it really makes you this upset, turn the computer off and go outside for a little while.
