Want a book idea for gift-giving this holiday season?

Deep in a Dream: The Long Night of Chet Baker

Man! Talk about depressing. This book chronicles the meteoric rise and slow decline of jazz trumpeter Chet Baker. After reading this book, you'll never listen to his music the same way again. Or Gerry Mulligan and others of the "West Coast" jazz scene of the 1950s for that matter.

Don't get me wrong! I still enjoy their music. Its just that I listen to it differently now.
