Lion cub and two (Arabic-speaking) parrots kidnapped from Palestinian zoo

Gaza gang seizes lion in zoo raid

A lioness cub and two Arabic-speaking parrots have been kidnapped from a zoo in Gaza.

Gunmen overpowered the zookeeper before flinging a blanket over the cub, called Sabrina, and the two birds.

Palestinian officials kept the theft secret for several weeks in an effort to track down the thieves.

A reward has now been offered as the zoo hopes to bring back the animals - and cheer up Fakhra the lion, Sabrina's cub mate, said to be heartbroken.
