What say you to this one in terms of line quality, color, composition, etc.? It's not done yet but here it is. It is a series of three I'm working on.

D) I'm twenty-one inches tall.

23. I can really feel the sense of
accomplishment you feel over your creation, as well as the crushing loss accompanied by the flush that takes the product of your body, and possibly a little piece of your soul, away. Those four words are a poignant social commentary, bringing to light mans ever joyous and painful struggle with birth and loss.

And then you go all zen on me *swoon*

Or, more accurately, by the drugs I'm taking. When it's moving slow, you can be sure that the NyQuil is starting to kick in.

About an hour ago, I found some old prescription bottles in a dumpster behind the Jewel-Osco. I took the pills insdie, sight unseen.

I think they may have been diet pills.

30. Just my opinion
There is a break in the yellow line coming from the top figure that seems unintentional. The heads in the red/yellow stream seem out of scale to all the other forms and appear to me to just be an afterthought. I would like to see some shading in the three figures to give more dimension or that they not be colored at all.

42. 1 - the break is unintentional - it's not done yet.2 I was worried about
that. They weren't an afterthought per se but not necessarily a good thought. 3 Black and white is a great idea. I'll try that.

Thank you very much.

31. I had no idea anybody still did 'shrooms! Who's cow pasture did
you find them in? Did you eat them, or dilute them in Kool-Aid? I went to class one night many YEARS ago with a bellyfull of mushrooms and watched the chairs dance and the professor turn colors. Then the walls started breathing and....well, I'll spare you the gory details.

Nice drawing!

36. Hey, Chavez....
I love the colored figures. Sure, try them sans color but I think they look great as is. I also really like the way they're interacting with the giant, vine-like psychedelic thing, and the sense of motion they provide the piece. I've seen a lot of your amorphous psychedelic images over the years and I agree that pairing them with a more concrete image (the figures) makes them much more marketable and useful as a theme. The color scheme is totally appropriate to the subject matter. Love the repeating faces in the stream too. Nice touch.

One critique: the orange stream or vine appears to get very narrow very quickly once it meets the main vine thingy. Just looks a little odd but no biggie.

I definitely think you should keep exploring the idea of painting the psychedelic images with concrete images, especially people...seems like it would be very fertile ground.

And one random thought: What about pairing the psychedelic pattern thingy with darker, more grim images and using a color scheme that matches that theme? Just a thought.
