It is absolutely HORRIBLE outside.
Edited on Mon Nov-28-05 06:01 PM by SmileyBoy
The WHOLE city has been shut down. On top of the close to one inch of FREEZING RAIN we had last night, we have had about a foot of snow so far, and we are expected to have another 3-5 inches tonight. And this isn't snow just plainly falling. This is a TOTAL BLIZZARD WHITE-OUT CONDITION. Several people have died on the roads so far since yesterday. Classes at my university were cancelled for the first time in over 8 years today. I'm trapped like a prisoner in my own dorm, and I can't bring my own fucking groceries in from my car, and now I'm really hungry (I haven't eaten in almost a full day). Everyone here is a prisoner tonight. The fire alarm at my dorm has gone off unprovoked on a few occasions today (electrical circuit from the storm), and the lights have flickered on and off. It's really fucking scary when the power goes out due to a WINTER storm. Luckily it hasn't gone out YET. At least I still have DU and the Internet. That one thing I'm grateful for.

Anyway, I'm trapped, and I'm hungry. At least the dining center is open, I hope. I need to get some food in me. I also was able to get about 13 hours of sleep last night (I woke up at 4pm), because I only got about 7 hours on Sunday.

God, it totally fucking SUCKS here!!!

3. It was raining here in Morris up until around 1:00 today.
Then it just started snowing. I'm guessing we got about three to four inches so far, and more is falling.

Don't you just love Minnesota weather?

7. where are you?
why don't some of you folks pool all your munchies?

Stay warm and safe.

Makes me think of a very cold fire drill when I was lived in a dorm. Luckily the heat didn't go out.

8. Smiley, my sister is stuck there right now too.
Edited on Mon Nov-28-05 06:17 PM by WeRQ4U
She was on her way back to Minneapolis but got stuck there last night. She is currently hanging out at Buffalo Wild Wings on 42nd, trying to get some studying done. She was kicked out of Barnes and NOble and the library when they both closed.

My OTHER sister is stuck in Bismarck. She goes to NDSU and finds it pointless to drive when it sucks so bad there.

Go Sioux.

PS. Here in Dickinson, we're supposed to get a storm from the west on Wednesday. Never as much snow as those from the SE, but I'm sure it will suck anyway. Cold as hell.

9. I looked on the radar a little while ago
to check out what was going on and I saw this huge front over the Dakotas. Damn I hate ice more than anything. I'd rather dig outa a foot of snow than deal with an ice storm. Hope things get better for ya.

15. Yeah, you guys got fuckin' nailed!
I can't believe how hard you were hit.

Time to snuggle up, sit back under a blanket with a bottle of good whisky, some good books, and maybe some DVDs and ride it out!

Are you originally from the Dakotas or other bad weather state? Or is this a totally new thing for you?

17. I used to love nights like that
Times in Denver, I'd go outside in the middle of the night after a snowstorm, and it felt like I was the only human on earth. Absolutely electrifying. But I don't live in snow-land anymore, thank god, except for the occasional freak storm.

19. Here's something interesting!
I live in northern Ohio. We get all kinds of weather...........absolutely gorgeous to unbelievably shitty. Today, November 28, our average high is typically in the lower 40's.

However, this crazy warm front went through the area last night and today the record high was set! It reached 68 degrees in both Cleveland and Toledo! I couldn't believe how warm it was! I was wearing shorts! Well, there is a chance for snow flurries tomorrow :(

Oddly enough, a record low was set 5 or 6 days ago with a low of 8 degrees I believe.

Anything goes in this part of Ohio!
