Worst drivers in the world out today! Rant.

I bought a new Mustang GT the other day. I love it. First new car I have ever owned. Today I went out shopping here in SoCal, and for the life of me I cant figure out these driver, mostly in SUV's and Mini-Vans. FOUR times they weaved into my fucking lane and almost hit me! Its a case of not being focused/Xmas shopping intoxication, whatever! Two of those incidents were when the driver was on a damn cell phone. One of them was reading a store flyer while driving on I-8. The fourth was a woman who wanted my place in the lane and just weaved in, knowing that I was there. I had to hit the horn and punch the accelerator to avoid this moron from hitting me.
Then we have the nitwits that insist on driving 40-45 MPH on the freakin freeway! I'd be travelling about 70 in the fast lanes when someone in, yes an SUV, whipped into the lane in front of me only to go slow.
What the fuck is that!
So I get to the mall, driving down the aisles to find a parking spot when this woman, who sees my car, starts backing out when I'm right in her line of collision. I was stopped due to the car in front of me, when this twit keeps backing out and had to stop SIX INCHES away from the passenger side of my car. I had to blare the horn to get her to stop and look, which she did, for 2 seconds, then tried to back into me again. By this time she was waving her arms around frantically.

Question: Is Xmas shoppind so important and intoxicating that people turn their brains off? Or did I just meet up with the wrong drivers today.
I'm not going out again today.

I was out today and this moran in a brand new Mustang GT kept weaving around and slamming on the brakes. It was crazy.

Seriously, I've driven all over the country and the worst drivers I've ever seen are here in California. Maybe it's just because there are so damn many of them but they suck.

Nice car to be your first ever new one. I just bought my first ever new car last year - it's a little cheapo rig but it's all mine.

Hell, I'm almost 50 and in full-blown midlife crisis so what the hell! Its a great time for me to buy my first new car.

I'm in the Bay Area but I'm thinking about getting me one of those mid-life crises so I can buy a new Mustang! :bounce:

You only get one real shot at the midlife crisis deal so you might as well do it right.

SUV drivers with cell phones must be banned for 3 months at least.

As for the slowpokes, I see them all the time - usually Asians in Toyotas. And I already hate Toyota because of its support for John Roberts and the Governator. These days I sometimes wish Toyota would be banned from California! (BTW, I am Asian, and I REFUSE to drive Toyotas, partly because I REFUSE to look like a slowpoke.)

The real problem is that California driver's licenses, with their strict legal residency requirement, are IDENTITY documents... but they say NOTHING about your DRIVING skills. Mass transit must be increased and improved, especially in Southern California, so that these idiots can be taken off the road once and for all. I'm all for requiring strict German-style driver's ed.

I did take an overseas trip, then got sick, which prevented me from logging on for the past two weeks.

East San Diego county is RW/Fundie hell. Jesus fish on every SUV and minivan. They are the WORST drivers I've encountered out here.
The Asians were bad drivers during the 80's, but now seem to get the knack of it.
Now its the Xtians who seem to flaunt their beleifs who stink up the freeways and surface roads.

Orange County, and the portions of Los Angeles County bordering Orange County, are just as bad. (I live in such an area.)

Even the vanity plates - the province of the fun-loving BLUE California - have been corrupted into REDness. Plates like "HESAWSM" (He's Awesome) are common. You'll see normally BLUE cars - from Volvo wagons to BMW convertibles - carrying RED stickers like W '04.

As someone who now sees Christianity as a political movement as opposed to a religion, I wish that the California DMV re-classify Christian vanity plates as "offensive."
