I'm wearing my semi-skinny jeans!
Shameless brag post here and maybe only the women here understand. Now, almost every woman has a pair of jeans that are the "skinny jeans". Those small things that she keeps hoping to fit into someday. I'm not there- yet- but the jeans that are one size bigger that I haven't worn since 1993 are on my body and on my body comfortably. Oh, yes, I feel like a hot woman! I won't let myself get down today because I am smokin' (not literally, gave that up, but just naturally smokin').

:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

2. Remember, you're never getting bigger....
Your clothes are shrinking in terror from your growing magnificence.

3. Congrats, populistmom!
I'm so proud of you, and happy for you! And no, it's not just a girl thing. A while back, I was on a workout program, weights and running, and when I dropped two jeans sizes, you could hear me crowing about it from here to California!

4. Good for you!!!
It feels GREAT to get into jeans you haven't worn in a long time! I have a couple pair of 501s that are at least 15-16 years old. I hadn't worn them in 10 years+. Now I can fit into them again! Whee!

Plus, uh, now that I've seen your picture, I can drool with good reason. ;-)

17. Blushing!
My skinny pair is my old pair of button-fly 501's. Another couple of months I hope.
Thanks for the compliment. I appreciate the drools! :) I didn't think anyone noticed when I put my picture up.

19. We were just stunned...
...yeah, that's it...

There is something about 501 that makes ya look GOOD when you're skinny enough. :D

5. Keep your "skinny" clothes
I got rid of all mine about 2 years ago and now only have 1 pair of old jeans that fit, one pair that I overlooked. I really wish I had kept those clothes I gave away.

Life in a small town can be weird, I saw a woman last week wearing a dress I gave away and I see a guy driving my old car almost every day. I wish I had both back.

18. I kept a lot of them
But so many of them are pre-1991, sadly many were out of fashion. I have this black leather skirt though that I never got rid of which is my next fashion conquest.

Congratulations

I'm deeply in touch with your joy. You can crow all you want and I'll just sit here and cheer for you.

I'm going shopping tonight for new pants to wear for my concert tomorrow night and if I actually get into a pair of size 10s I'm going to be insufferable tomorrow myself. :-)

20. I know you understand
You've lost even more than I have. I'm not quite at a 10 (yet) but I'm getting closer.
I hope you find something great for tomorrow, Velma! I'm sure you'll look fabulous!

*smooches*

Unfortunately the universe is conspiring against me on teh size 10 thing today. One of my coworkers brough in Krispy Kreme donuts and I have been bad. Gonna have to do 2 Tae Bo classes at the gym tonight to make up for it. :-) But oh they were worth it.

6. Yay on you. Great job! I know what you mean about the sizes
I have clothes from size 8 (I wish) to size 16. Right now I am somewhere in the middle and imagaine I will stay there.

Good for you, I am sure you look great! :)

21. I hardly have any 8's
But that's my goal. Being in the middle of 8 and 16 isn't bad anyway. It's pretty average. It's where I am currently and simply delighted to be there again.
Thanks for the compliment! :)

7. I'm wearing jeans I haven't worn in over a year
Edited on Fri Nov-21-03 09:46 AM by LynneSin
Although they aren't my skinny jeans. However, it's my first step to getting into my official skinny jeans.

We're having jeans day at work. You donate money to this charity and you get a sticker that says you can wear jeans for the day. Normally I've refused to do these things because I could never fit into my jeans, but this time I was happy to chalk up $5 so I could wear them.

(looking great in her LLBean Jeans and DKNY Sweater)

8. YESSSSSSSSSS!!
Congrats! It is not just a women thing. I am working on getting down to a size 34 jeans and it is the most difficult thing going. (I am a size 36 right now)

23. 36 isn't bad
My hubby lost weight with me (but for him it took 6 weeks to lose 30 pounds six months ago and that was it), but he went from a 38 (and that was with elastic, but he refused to buy 40's) to a 34.
Good luck to you!

9. I hear ya! Same is happening to me!
I started a new med about 3 months ago and it's got to be the reason I just have NO appetitite anymore. In fact I asked the doc about it and he said it was a side effect.

I've lost 30 pounds so far now! And still losing! I had only saved one size of jeans below what I had and they are falling off. My belt is even too big. I'm going to wait a while before I buy more clothes - could really stand to lose 20 more.

Woman - vanity is thy name!

13. But it's not a diet med!!
Don't think that would be a good idea? It was started for me for a side effect as opposed to a primary use but if you want details PM me and I'll go get the bottle and look it up ...

24. Allright Boomerdawg!
I hope the meds aren't giving you any bad side effects, but I'm sure a little weight loss is a nice one. (And as for more, I still need another 25 gone myself, so I hear ya!)

Was supposed to sorta boost the anti-depressant I take and it has been beneficial. I just can't eat worth a shit now!
