Please choose some U names for tropical storms and hurricanes

Now that global climate change is here, the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) finds itself running out of hurricane names and resorting to alpha, beta, gamma, delta and so on.

Tropical Storm Epsilon is now in the central Atlantic, thankfully having few effects beyond obviating the shortage of hurricane names.

I think we at DU can help the WMO be better prepared in future years.

In their wisdom, the WMO has ignored U names for hurricanes.

but still hurricanes continue forming. Indeed the waters of the tropics are still warm enough to form even more hurricanes, although the season is said to be officially over.

As our atmosphere collapses, the fellows and fellowettes over at the World Meteorological Organization are very busy and apparently have no time for naming things. Let's be good folks and help them out. Vote on or suggest U names.

We need more storms named after obscure fantasy lit characters.

Utherydes Wayn if the Steward of Riverrun in the Song of Ice and Fire books. I don't think he's ever seen, just mentioned in passing once or twice.

Udo owned a coffee shop here in Pennington, NJ. It was a great place, built to celebrate our community, to meet our neighbors, to talk, to think, to write. He didn't run the place so much for the money as to make a community.

Local businessmen screwed him out of the place with no reward. I have always thought highly of Udo, and as a hurricane, maybe he can blow away some of the bad karma that befell him.
