CATNIP!
Nectar of the Feline Gods... one taste, and they're in a state of frenzied bliss. "Oh, mommy - we love you!"

When's the last time you gave your kitty some catnip? :)

1. What is in that stuff that cats love?

Our cats were always outdoor cats on the farm.

6. I think it's valerium, or something like that...
they go nuts for catnip, mint, peppermint... all from the same plant species, I think.

3. Oreo's been driving me nuts the last few days.
Catnip is the last resort before a visit to the vet.

4. We actually tried growing catgrass for
The Wiley and Excellent Cat Named Ginger, but he wasn't interested. I guess it didn't smell enough like deli roast beef.

7. One of mine, the big tom
Immediately flips on his back, digs in to my forearm with all four sets of claws and bites, hard. I can pick him up that way. Only works with fresh catnip.

Usually now I just drop it and run, damn nip heads.

11. Welding glove works too.
I know someone who plays with their fur god that way. Trained the darn thing to come like a dog when called and jump on his shoulders.

Crazy.

I at least trained him to wait for the towel. **yeOWtch!**

*sniff* I miss him.

10. Have you ever tried the honeysuckle pillows?
Mine love it, but it doesn't put them into the wild frenzy that catnip does. It's a nice alternative (but hard to find).

19. I'm not familiar with this
How do cats react to honeysuckle, generally?

Lucy's not the catnip tripper that a couple of my earlier cats were. I sprinkle some on her scratching post, and she acts more like a DEA agent — like she's suspicious of it.

20. My cats love it.
They lick the little pillows, cuddle with them, and try to get the scent all over their furry bodies. All the bennies of Catnip, but without the frenzied, dog-like behavior. A smoother, more mellow kind of high... :smoke:

probably better than chamomile for a late night beverage.

I love those spots! You don't see that often on the kitties.

She's got that glassy-eyed look going at her first sniff.

23. It's been a few weeks.
Our Sashka wants to be an only kitty ... so she HOGS it. She growls at anyone coming near it, even when we make four different piles! OK, so she can't guard all four piles at once, but the other three kitties are too timid to come back once they've been chased away. Sometimes we can distact her.

Kitties .... :loveya:

27. she's like a bowling ball
I dunno, like 14 lbs? She's a short cat, length-wise, but a very wide cat. I'm not sure what her problem is because she's actually a rather light eater! She's super sweet and likes getting in your lap, but believe me, you KNOW when she's there! :)
