The Order of the Phoenix and today's political situation.

Just 100 plus pages into the fifth installment of the J.K. Rowling's story and the political similiarites to today's world is remarkable. Their news media, The Daily Prophet, is swiftboating Harry Potter and Dumbledore to discredit them; and members of the Dark side, like Lucius Malfoy, are donating money to the Ministry of Magic because, it "Gets him in with the right people...then he can ask favors...delay laws he doesn't want passed."

It just started me thinking, why are we acting like what is happening in the US today, with our inept media and with our bought Congressmen and Voldermorts in the Executive Branch, why are we acting like all that is happening today, has never happened before?

And if it has happened before in history, what did the people have to do to put an end to it back then?
