7. IM from my sweetheart on her way to class.
I never forget to say it before she leaves for school.
4 years in an E.R. gives you a fierce appreciation for the
fragility of human beings.

54. Absolutely!
17 years in health care, same conclusion. I would want to look back and say "Okay, the last words we ever spoke were 'I love you' and not 'Remember to take the trash out!"

And I agree with you: life is fragile. We never either of us leave home without telling the other "I love you", even if we're angry at the time. You just never know...

28. Here's The Duck...

I turned off my signature line because the Comcast user webspace was really REALLY responding slowly the past couple of weeks. So... as a result, my sig image was causing threads to take forever to load.

I'll put him back soon.

I talked to my mom yesterday about my parents' trip to see me this weekend. I told her and Daddy both that I love them. I also talked to my best friend yesterday. She called to tell me she got a dog. She was very cute about it and I told her I loved her with a big grin on my face. She's just too cute sometimes. :-)

15. To Paul. Every day.
When he went in for his pacemaker all manner of thoughts filled my head. The worst was "What would my life be like without him in it?" So now I make sure to tell him every day how much I love him and how I care for him.

Yes, we still fight but I will NEVER go to bed mad. (I'll stay up and fight...just kidding.)

There's nothing in the world worth fighting over and never having the chance to say I love you once more.

41. Sure. To my wife and my son.
While my mother was alive, I made sure that every time I left her or said goodbye on the phone, the last thing I said was "I love you". And I meant it every time. Now that she's gone, I know what the last thing I said to her was. It helped, and still does. My wife and son and I do the same thing to each other now. I'm sure it'll help them when I go. We also say it to each other many times a day; so it's not just a superstitious practice. I know I mean it every time. I'm sure they do.
