My S.O. just auditioned for "Rocky VI"
I am absolutely positively not kidding.

He auditioned for "guy in a bar" and it's one line - something like "I like Rocky, but he doesn't have a chance"

If he gets the part, maybe we can go to the premiere....

1. We who?
I'm sure your SO is a great person, and hey, work is work, especially these days. But you couldn't pay me enough to go see the train wreck that the next Rocky is going to be.

But I do hope it works out for your SO and that this is a stepping stone to a fantastic acting career. Congrats for getting the part:toast:

2. No! No! Don't jinx him! He didn't get it yet!!!!
Just wish him "break a leg".

And you said it - work is work!

One of his friends had one line in the post-funeral party scene in "The Sixth Sense", and he earned enough from it for a nice down payment on a house. (we went to see the movie, I said "that's not Neil's voice", and S.O. said "no, he said they overdubbed him, but he still got paid")

PS - I posted this because I'm stunned that they're actually going through with this movie idea!!!

3. Does he get a flat rate, or residuals?

4. Don't know!
He's never done a movie before - just TV (nice residuals) and commercials (usually flat rate, sorry to say). One of his friends did a V-8 commercial that ran over 2-3 years, and made enough to live on (well, in actor terms) one year. A long-running national commercial can be sweet.

My S.O. did a commercial for something called the "Special Kids Network" where he played the father of a little boy in a wheelchair. Flat rate (I think $500 for a one-day shoot). The damned thing ran for years and years - one of my more clueless friends, who doesn't understand the term "acting" asked me if he was married before and had a handicapped kid from the first marriage (????!!!)

6. I hope he gets it, good luck
Though I won't be seeing this film until it hits free cable. which will probably be about six weeks after it is released direct to dvd.
