I have two!

I am a work at home mom of 3 kids all under 4 years old, and I work as an independent contractor for 3 companies working at home.

I'd love to do that!! Seems really interesting considering I love chemistry and the biologies.

techs who work most closely with the Pathologists. We call our selves "The Art of Science". We cut tissue and develop stains to bring out morph aspects of the tissue.

That's all...

I shudder to think about the money we blew on electricity during my working years. I was an airline pilot, gone for a week or two at a time.

Now I am home, 24-7.
Periodically I make a pass through the house, turning off lights and TV sets.

I have spoken to Miz t. about this, several times. I have explained, very patiently, how we waste money when a light or TV set is left on when no one is in the room.

She ALWAYS promises to do better.
And she does.
For perhaps a day.
"I only went out for a minute to get the mail and then I saw that I needed to rake some leaves in the front yard and I'd left the rake right there so I started raking leaves and I FORGOT that the TV and 4 lights were on. Jeez, give me a break."

Life is too short, and she has other much appreciated qualities.
She doesn't deserve the hassle.
And I have the time on my hands.
So I continue the patrols.

See, I used the title Legal Assistant at my last job, now I work for my husband who is a sole-practicioner and I'm his Legal Assistant/Secretary/Receptionist/Bookkeeper/you name it.

So, other than Honey or Dear, which is what he calls me, what is my title?

but they let me make my business cards, so I almost put "fixer of problems big and small" since that's what I do...unfortunately, that didn't fit :(

I can call myself a writer all I like - and it's true in a technical sense - but until I get published, I won't consider it my job title.

I assist the Fire Marshall in enforcing the Massachusetts state fire code in our fair city. Our job is getting more attention now since the Station nightclub fire. I supervise 7 inspectors who ensure the safety of everything from schools to the 4th of July fireworks.

Yeah. That's me.

I copy edit 10 outdoors magazines monthly.

I was bucking for Minister of Information Architecture, but it wouldn't fit on the business card ;-)

But my plan is to also become a self-employed free-lance nature photographer so we can write off the new Canon D20 and lenses my sweet husband just bought me. Anybody want to buy a beautiful custom photo of Alaska? I'm taking orders -- just tell me what you want. :)

Technically "Liquor Department Manager" but I prefer Boozegirl. I wish I could talk management into letting me put that on my name badge.

I work for a large human resources consulting firm, in our Communication practice. I do design and layout of various employee benefits materials, proofreading, editing, etc.

Well the last one is what I tell the public because they want to speak to a supervisor - the company I work for directs the call to a pseudo-supervisor first (i.e. me) - and it's easier to tell them I am an account manager rather than a service representative which is my official title.

As for Dad, Husband and Student... those are non-paying titles and are legit.

I'm also a full-time college junior, majoring in creative writing. I'm also an independent contractor, teaching creative writing classes to adults through the community education department of a local school district.

Oh, and I have three kids between the ages of 3-8. So "insanely fucking busy woman" would probably incorporate all of my various roles quite well. ;-)
