56. The Nicotine of Soft Drinks
I hate Mountain Dew - absolutely despise it. The color is nauseating, the taste is worse, and it makes me feel queasy. But I am addicted to it.

I'm also addicted to coffee (enough so that a local coffee bar at one point refused to serve me), but I drink my coffee black and so I don't get the vicious sugar rush of Mountain Dew.

Edited on Fri Nov-21-03 02:25 PM by supernova
Diet Rite b/c they use Splenda sweetner and it tastes just like Coke. I'm working my way through a Tangerine bottle now. :9

Fresca b/c I just like the taste. It's a pretty good mixer too.

...if Diet Coke is so much more popular, why is DP always sold out at my grocery? I think DC tastes like radiator water.

20. So am I, but...
I've learned to tolerate and even like the store brand (Publix) diet cola. When you drink as much of the stuff as I do, paying 50 cents for a 2 liter vs. $1.29 for DP makes a big difference.

Interesting thing is that I can only drink the store brand when it's in a 2 liter bottle. In the can it's disgusting.

Edited on Fri Nov-21-03 08:21 PM by Booberdawg
I buy Diet Pepsi by the case and when they are on sale. Often with coupons and get them $4.00 a case, never more than $5.00, and have grabbed as many as 10 cases at a time. They always think I'm having a party but I just tell them I have a drinking problem. :D

11. Sorry, man, but Sprite and 7-Up...
are definitely NOT the same. Not even close. Sprite is a lot more sweet & syrupy, while 7-Up is lighter and crisper. I love 7-Up but won't drink Sprite unless there is no other non-caffeinated beverage available.

14. Does SkiPop ring any bells here?
I'm from a redneck little corner of Ohio where this sorta bootleg Mountain Dew (with citrus pulp in the bottom and about three times the sugar) was produced. Just curious if there are any other SE Ohioans here.

26. I have actually considered...
I have actually considered buying a real fountain machine and arranging for deliveries of the syrup and the CO2. I priced it out and everything...

I considered the IV, but wheeling that bag hanger thingy around all day like a hospital patient would be too cumbersome.

29. 39 grams of carbohydrate in each 12 ounce can
And that's just Coke! Some of the sweeter brands are much worse - Welch's grape soda has 55 :scared:

I still drink the occasional Coke, and can't stand the taste or side effects of NutraSweet (Diet Rite cola is OK - sweetened with Splenda), so my everday carbonated beverage of choice is now ...

No sweeteners, no calories, no sodium..... just water that makes you BUUUUURP

I don't drink soda. Or Pop. I do enjoy a "col' drink", and have been known to ask people (just to be a southern smart aleck) "what kind of Coke do you want".

I sure could go for a Barq's right now.

I need a can a day to function.

I prefer Pepsi in the can, but in plastic bottles I prefer the taste of Coke. Fountain, I prefer Coke as well. Coke in the can is nastay. Actually I *prefer* Pepsi in a glass bottle... *sniff*

I also love me some Vernor's (I'm a displaced Michigander), and I occasionally will drink a Sprite or a Squirt when I want a change of pace.
