Poll question: Is Springsteen's "Born to Run" the best song ever written?

Just been listening to it again (and doing a close read of the lyrics) after several years where I didn't hear it very often. Any why isn't this song played on the radio more often?

1. It's awfully good...
(and I say that as a person who likes very little of Springstein's work) but the best song in the world is...

"Kick Out The Jams" by the MC5!

hell how should I know? And why trust my judgment anyway? Pick your own damn favorite! It's too hard to choose only one, so it's an unfair question!

My top five (in no particular order) are:

Kashmir
Subterranean Homesick Blues
Amazing Grace
Layla
And anything at all by Neil Finn

I'm sitting here listening to a Springsteen bootleg...from '75, a club outside of Philly. "Born" isn't even close to the best song on this double-disc set. "Incident On 57th Street" is, however. Frankly, it may actually be The Best Bruce Song Ever. All you Bruce fans NEED to get this one.

I could say a lot about Led Zeppelin, but I won't. Instead I'll say: Lou Christie's "Beyond the Blue Horizon" is the Best Song Ever. He didn't mean it to be. We didn't expect to to be. But it is. How like life...

The whole Born to Run album is good.

I'd say it is the best ablum ever made. 2nd would be Pet Sounds.

I'm a big Bruce fan, too. Saw him first in Cambridge in 1974, I think, opening for Bonnie Raitt. That was the night Jon Landau wrote, "I have seen rock 'n roll's future, and its name is Bruce Springsteen."
