I think I've lost one of my nephew's cats
He is in between apartments right now, and brought the 2 cats over on Wednesday night to visit with their "Auntie CS". Anyway, I live in a small one bedroom, bottom half of a duplex. No windows were open, no doors, etc. No way could cats escape. I haven't seen one of them since Wednesday. Yikes! I have no idea where she is. My nephew thinks she's probably hiding in my storage closet (which is packed to the brim and has lots of neat hiding places). I told him, if she's gone, it's NOT MY FAULT! I think she's just scared (just a few months old) and is hiding, so when I'm home/moving about, she stays hidden. It's just odd, that's all.

little Althea, I was panicing. . . but several hours later, she just appeared out of the blue :).

2. I'm glad she showed up
but it's been 2 DAYS! Either she's gone, or she's really really good at hiding. If she's gone, I have no idea how she would have escaped.

3. Is the food vanishing at a normal rate?
She may be sneaking out and eating while you're asleep.

It's possible that she's just terrified of being in a new place and is really hiding out somewhere.

Make sure there's food and water out for her, maybe put some outside for her too just in case.

4. I don't know!
If the food is vanishing at a normal rate. They aren't my cats... one is eating normally (I think) but it's hard to tell. I have put out the ultimate cat trap... milk. Yes, I know... it's not good for cats. But I'm starting to get worried. Where the hell could the little one have gone? Seriously, there is NO WAY she could get out.

5. BREAKING! Update...
Kitty that was missing has now surfaced. Not for long. I just got up from the computer, turned around and there she was, eating at the dish. She, of course, did a panic run to the storage closet, but at least I know now she isn't dead somewhere. 'Cause that? Would be awkward to explain.

6. I figured that was the case. They're very good at not being found
when they don't want to be :).

7. It's not like they are small, either
I have no idea where they were hiding. Anyway, now that they've screwed up their courage they won't leave me alone. I go to the bathroom - I have an audience. It's been over a year since I've had a cat; I had forgotten about the audience part. heeee. Right now? I'm trying to type over top of 2 cats. Like I said, I'm their new best friend.

9. Oh thank goodness.
We moved from a unit downstairs to the one directly above it. With a Buddy dog and seven cats. (Don't ask, it was an accident.)

ALL of them are adults and they ALL did girrafe impressions once I carted them up here. Stretched necks way up as they cased the joint, even though this floor plan is exactly the same.

She'll come out. Do you have other kitties or dogs? If she's young, she may not know how to handle it. :)

8. I knew I forgot something!
I'm allergic to cats! My eyes are watering and I'm sneezing like there's no tomorrow. Crap.

10. Oh no! So is the very best catlady I know.
She probably saves 100 cats a month, does it nearly fulltime AND she is as allergic as hell.

Your nevvy is very lucky. :)
