2. OMG, they're coming to take us away! Ooogie boogie!
How the frig do you know that anyway?

Besides, anonymity on the internet is nearly zilch anymore anyway. Your ISP keeps constant records of what you do. (so don't be downloading anything illegal! O8) )

21. Interesting test - Aspies seems to share some traits with HSPs
I'm an HSP Highly Sensitive Person.

Chiefly the need to be alone, hypersenstivity to the activity of others, lighting or smells. The need to be alone after socializing. High emotional attachement to simple objects or the arts. Those especially stood out to me.

32. The best minds in the field have been unable to come to grips with me
sort of like a deranged Miller Lite commercial: "Asperger's syndrome!" "High-functioning autism!" "Asperger's syndrome!" "High-functioning autism!"

See, the problem is, the way the clinicians distinguish between the two is by looking at IQ subtest scores: if the verbal IQ > performance (nonverbal) IQ, it's Asperger's; if the PIQ > VIQ, it's (classic) autism. (In "neurotypicals", they're supposed to be equal within a few points.) Then they tested me, and both were off scale...

45. Nevertheless, that is how differential diagnosis is done
between AS and HFA. Other criteria are, of course, used to establish that the subject is on the autism (pervasive developmental disorder) spectrum in the first place. The subtest discrepancies are then used solely to distinguish AS from HFA (as I noted, not always with a very high degree of confidence).

50. maybe in the research world
but not in the trenches, at least from what I have seen. There's still a lot of argument out here among the rabble and the DSM doesn't really make that type of distinction, unless I'm missing something. (which I certainly could be) :)

This is no surprise to me though. I have long suspected it. Can't stand to break my routines, don't know how to act around people, feel extremely uncomfortable in crowds, get really absorbed in projects, can't stop myself when working on math problems (even making new math problems out of algebra steps just to keep going with it and COMPLETELY dissect the problem), I'm probably an aspie. I wish I could get an official diagnosis though. Dunno why except to say, see, here is why I can't seem to act like the people around me. There has got to be a reason for why I can't do that.

I won't post my results here... Because, I'm very likely an

But, as I was going through the questions I noticed numerous areas
where over time I have developed coping mechanisms.

Also, there is some evidence linking left handedness with Aspie...
I didn't see any questions on the questionnaire testing that
aspect.
