3. Looks like only on ESPN
Final is two weeks from today. They're showing plenty of matches but just on ESPN and ESPN 2: http://www.ncaasports.com/broadcast/tv

I love collegiate volleyball but they lost me a bit with the new scoring system. The old play to 15 with side outs was a far superior game, IMO. I attended a USC/UCLA men's championship match in the '80s featuring Karch Kiraly and Steve Timmons, etc. where the score stayed the same for more than 20 minutes late in game 5. It was incredible tension and high caliber play, one perfect side out after another. That aspect is completely lost now.

4. I don't know why they changed it
Apparently the new scoring was also adopted by high schools; at least in Kollyforniya. If there's a fifth game, it's to 15, but these 25-point games are just too damned long. And since momentum swings are so crucial and such a part of a match, I think it's hurt the game.

6. I know it was also adopted by Florida high schools
I met a father who had twin daughters playing high school volleyball and he told me they changed it a couple of years ago.

Your point is exactly right, and why I don't like the switch. It used to be a late deficit was hardly insurmountable because you still had to win while serving. I saw teams come from 14-9 or 14-10 behind all the time. Now you just need to get a big lead early and hang on.

BTW, when I was in college the #1 collegiate volleyball head umpire was Wink Davenport, father of tennis' Lindsey. He was a former Olympic volleyballer.
