1. No, not getting enough sleep.
After 15 years of sleeping well, a new house went up next door and is being rented to two young women. One works the night shift, the other one seems to "socialize" a lot. The traffic in and out of their place is a rather constant thing, their bright-white porch light is on 24/7, shining into my entire house because their house sits perpendicular to mine. (I'm in the process of buying light-blocking shades).

I'm also paying to soundproof and thus redo all the walls in my master bedroom. These girls don't give a flip. They're p*ssing off several of the neighbors.

Do I sound a wee bit cranky? I am! I hate being sleep deprived.

2. I don't think I've had a normal 8 hours of sleep this decade.
And while Chimpy would be a convenient scapegoat, I don't believe it's all his fault.

I am guilty of staying up until 1 AM listening to Mike Malloy, but the problem is falling asleep after that. Maybe I'll do better when XM finally ditches Colmes next month and Mike's on in his proper time slot.

3. I get what I need. Enough to function well anyway.
Sometimes that is 4-6 during work crunch and sometimes that is 8-10 on the occasional lazy weekend. Naps rock... especially on those rare, rainy, mid-afternoons when you can get away with them.

10. I think ENOUGH sleep for most DUers would entail...
dropping off into a peaceful slumber until 2008 (or at least until a massively victorious November, 2006)....

By that measure, I think the answer is 100% no!

There's a maniac in high office who is willingly controlled by other maniacs in and around the high office.
So no, I don't sleep well.

14. I'm a hardcore insomniac.
And I don't know why.

I only average about three-four hours of sleep at night...and that's after tossing and turning for about two hours. :(

17. I know what you mean about the Cats...
...my two male cats are both about 14 pounds each, and in the winter, when the temperature drops, they both pick a spot on either side of my legs, and will not move once they are comfortable, effectively trapping one or both of my legs under the comforter.
