Important news for DU Vegans.
I read in the newspaper the other day that Samuel Smith brewery in England (purveyors of such fine products as Taddy Porter and Winter Ale) is certified as a Vegan Product by some International Vegan Certification Agency or other...

So drink their beer, ale, porter, and other stuff, without pangs of conscience. It's all damn good, and this is one of the companies who really kickstarted the "good beer" revolution back in the 1980s...if it weren't for them and gutsy companies like them, we'd have no choices but Miller or Bud and similar chemical-laden sludge.

Just thought you'd like to know.

2. I think of everyone.
Just because you won't split a cheesesteak hoagie with me, doesn't mean I don't like you.

4. You're a good guy
I wonder where my favorite beer-appreciating vegan went to, I figured he'd have posted to this thread by now.

6. I suspect he'll be here soon enough...let's see, we have:
1) Veganism

2) Beer

3) A reply from you

...No way he'll be able to resist.

12. My stepdad had a Vega
At one point we got into an accident in it--some guy behind us had bad brakes and slammed into us. :-( That's about all I remember about that car.

5. Isn't all beer vegan?
Or am I missing some part of the definition of vegan? I thought vegan just meant an absence of any animal products?

7. I think it also denies chemical additives
and other impure stuff, which is rampant in mass-brewed beer.

But think of all the poor little yeasts (which are animals) who give up their lives to make the beer...

I honor their sacrifice, and tip a bottle to them.

10. As long as the addetives aren't animal tested or derived, they're vegan
Most vegans, being educated consumers and careful ingredient label-readers, avoid the nastier food addetives and chemical ickiness, but as long as it's free of animal ingredients it's vegan.

8. Many beers are fined for clarity with animal products
such as gelatin or isinglass which is derived from fish bladders. Others have honey in them and I think some can even have milk.

There's even wierder shit in some wine.
