May I vent?
I had prescription drug insurance through November 29th. I sent in a refill for a 3 month supply of a med I MUST take. It's expensive and even with insurance, my co-pay is $135. The drug has NEVER shown up. And this is something I would never lie about. I just get this response from Medco.

"Thank you for your online inquiry. Our records indicate that your
order was shipped on 11/26/2005. Since you have not received this
order, we can request that a replacement order be mailed to you. If
you would like for us to send you a replacement order, please respond
to this e-mail with your current mailing address and you should
receive your medication within 7 to 10 days from the date the
replacement is requested.

Please note, if we send a replacement order, you will be charged your
normal copay. If you do not receive the original order by the time
you are ready to refill your prescription again, please contact us so
we may send your next refill to you at no charge. If you have any
further questions, please contact us again at http://www.medco.com.

If you need medication before your order arrives, please contact your
physician to obtain a prescription for a short-term supply. This
prescription may be filled at your local participating pharmacy.

We apologize for any inconvenience."

Three problems here. I have to refill in 3 months in order to get my "credit" for medication that never arrived and right now, in order to get the drug, I have to pay the co-pay twice. I'm no longer employed by this company so there will be NO REFILL in three months. Third, this drug is one that their system requires to be a mail-order script after they've filled it ONE TIME at a local pharmacy.

Damn. I've got about 4 days left and these idiots don't send out $400 drugs with any sort of tracking and I'm screwed.

1. Unless they stated otherwise in writing beforehand, it is their
responsibility to ensure you receive the product.

Did you pay with a credit card? If so, call you cc company immediately and dispute the original charge.

You are not legally bound to pay for merchandise you did not receive.

2. I haven't paid the first charge.
I don't until I receive the drugs. Their policy may be buried in the hundred page booklet they put out. I've gotten drugs from this company for 8 years. The medications have always arrived and I've always paid my bill. Now it's my problem and I feel as though they think I'm lying.

Arrggghhh!!!

3. I have a friend who once worked for a pharmacy
benefits management company. I can ask her tomorrow at work what your recourses are.

4. Thank you so much!
To me, this drug is like insulin. Functioning without it is nearly impossible.

You can PM me if you find out anything. Again, thank you!
