What do you think is the most dangerous "alternative" medical practice?
I was talking this over with a doc friend this morning. We agreed it was breast thermography right now, mostly because it's so widely touted as a substitute for mammography (which it's not, scroll down) and because of the seriousness of false negatives.

Poor dumb fucks dicking around with crystals and magnets while perfectly treatable illnesses eat away at them. Fucking charlatans who promulgate that nonsense ought to be tried for murder.

6. The ones that isolate the "patient" from conventional treatment.
integrating or combining is fine, some alternatives may actually be effective, others may provide a placebo effect - nothing wrong with that in my book. IMO most folks using them really want the caring attention not provided by conventional medicine. Good nursing or better "bedside" manner would go a long way to putting some of the real charlatans out of business.
