We're still only 5-7 . . . but I gotta find any reason I can to celebrate :).

In June I bet 500 bucks on the Dolphins over 5 season wins. Two weeks ago it looked like I'd donated that money to the sportsbook. Now I can't do worse than a push and one win in four tries doubles my money.

It was a value bet. The Venetian hotel listed Miami at over 5 even money. I knew that was too low. I really should have bet much more. Two weeks later the other sportsbooks had the number 5.5 and the over was nearly a 1/2 favorite. If I had been wise enough to bet big dimes over the 5 at even money I could have bet under 5.5 at +1.70 and guaranteed a nice profit regardless of outcome. In sports betting it's not just picking winners, you can twist the mathematical edge to your side if your timing and instinct are capable.

so that we don't have to get our tails spanked in the playoffs. :P

Fair enough, Heck I'll accept a first round spanking in a playoff game. . . that would exceed my expectations for this season :).
