Police Catch Sunday School Teacher, 70, Stealing Baby Jesus

EUREKA SPRINGS, Ark. -- A 70-year-old grandmother who teaches Sunday school is charged with stealing a baby Jesus statue from an Arkansas town's nativity scene.

Virginia Voiers said she thought she was just taking part in a rambunctious holiday prank, but a witness called Eureka Springs police.

She now faces up to a year in jail and a $5,000 fine for misdemeanor theft.

Voiers said, "Yes, I've been a bad girl."

She added that when she told her Methodist pastor that she took the baby Jesus statue, he told her, "Go and sin no more," but added, "You didn't tell them you are a Methodist, did you?"

2. My brother did a similar prank years ago

he and his friends went to as many nativity scenes as they could find and stole just one figure from each one - the black wise man. They were hoping the local press might find out and start some theory about white supremacists or something, but no one seemed to notice. They ended up returning most of them a week later.
