What's your favorite Weathercaster assumed name?
And why do they do that to themselves?

When I was a wee lad one of the Denver stations had this old dude named Stormy Rottman.

I think LA had Dallas Rains at one point or another.

Any other good ones out there?

1. Storm Field and Sam Champion.
Sam's my favorite, but Storm Field's name makes me feel mildly irritated. If I remember correctly, Storm's dad is a meteorologist too, so there's that.

2. I think Hannah Storm was originally on the weather channel
Hasn't Storm been done by now?

How about Sleet or Hail or Slushy? Those are nice names, and original too. :P

And there was his opposite, Sunny what-his-name! Roseman, I think it was. Sunny Roseman. I had totally forgotten about them! I liked Stormy. Sunny was a bit much.

I suppose you remember Blinky's Fun Club on Channel 2 as well?

4. Hell yes I remember Blinky!

I watched Blinky every damn day before I went to school. I think he may be the reason that I am semi-obsessed with creepy clowns to this day.

Did you ever hear the rumor that Stormy Rottman's son had stood up on Mister Twister at Elitch's and was decapitated?

:scared:

8. Hadn't heard that, but I used to work at Elitch's, oddly enough
Selling a pitching game for 50 cents for three throws when I was 15.

And my sister and I were on Blinky's show for her fourth birthday. God, that was wild! We tore the place up. A nightmare of little polyester-clad monkeys in every lurid color you could imagine. I think poor Blinky aged more in that one day than he normally would in a year. We made that old man cry. Good fun. :) He was a sweetheart.

It's neat to see his face after all these years. What memories.

5. How about Sonny Dey? That's not a real name, that I know of, but
I think it would be a cool weather name.

6. Oh, there must be a Sonny Dey...
It looks like Soupy Sales played a character named Sonny Dey on some show called Black Scorpion.

7. HA! I swear I did not know that. I thought I just made that up!
Well, it would still be a cool weather name.
