it hit me fairly hard, but it took several years for it to sink in. when i heard that george 'superman' reeves had committed suicide, it was rough.

6. I was relieved
I'm the youngest. For two or three years I saw everyone lying to me, but I didn't want to let on so not to disappoint everyone.

14. OMG, G. Reeves death was
really traumatic for us little guys. I actually heard that he stepped on a piece of Kryptonite - and bought it!

Santa wasn't so bad. I was really sold on the idea of the jolly old guy flying around in his sleigh taking toys to all the boys and girls down their chimneys. As I got a little older it dawned on mr that not every one had a chimney. It was then that I realized the truth:

Sometimes he has to go through the door.

15. I was thankful when I found out ...

Something about the story had never added up quite right anyway. I mean when they played all those shows on TV about Santa, he was all the time making wooden trains and such, and I wanted a regular train set that ran on electricity. When I got one, I couldn't imagine how he did it, nor how he could afford it ... and if Santa is running around making all these toys for people, just what is the point of selling the toys in stores? Is that what the parents of the bad kids do? If so, wouldn't it really be better to be a bad kid and maybe get a Huffy bicycle rather than a wooden horse painted by elves?

Sheesh.
